Apple Cider Pork

Pork is easy to cook  and does not cost a lot. Many stores offer family packs of boneless and bone in pork chops that are a better deal but even a pack of four can cost as little as $2.73, making this a great meal for any family. Paired with a lovely kale, Bobby Deen inspired, salad and some beets cooked in apple cider, this is a great meal for the cool months of fall.

Ingredients:

  • 8 Pork Chops
  • 3/4 cup Apple Cider
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Jerk Chicken Seasoning (McCormick's works well)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions:

  1. Mix the Apple Sauce, Jerk Seasoning, Salt and Pepper in a medium to large bowl. Add the pork. Rub the seasonings generously onto each piece of pork. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let set in the fridge 2 hours or over night.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Toss the rest of the vegetable oil in with the pork and apple cider mix.
  4. Place pork chops in the pan. Pour about 1/4 of the liquid from the bowl into the pan.
  5. Cook the pork chops for 7-8 minutes on each side (till cooked through).
  6. Serve.
