Fall Shopping

Fall Shopping

Chilly air, colorful leaves, shops and homes decorated with Indian corn and pumpkins, and hot cider are just a few reasons so many love the fall season. Autumn is also the time when crowds begin gathering at stores looking for warmer clothes, seeking fall goodies, and even shopping for the upcoming holidays. Even though, fall does not officially start until the end of September, stores decide to stock up on some items in anticipation of the season.

By summers end, many stores are trying to get rid of anything Spring or Summer, and autumn colors, along with light jackets, begin filling shelves. Within weeks of the clothes appearing, grocery stores will greet patrons with Halloween candy, and cider stands will be seen along roadways, but why wait till Autumn to start stocking up on fall items now?

Yes, it is that time of year where school is about to start, which means fall clothes, magazines, candles, candle holders, and decorations begin to make an appearance. Some kitchen stores even have fall plates and napkins, some still on sale, and Williams Sonoma is still selling items from last fall that will be good until next year! Kohl's is already showing signs of fall tablecloths, napkins, and home décor, and, of course, almost any clothing store has fun fall colors for back to school sales. Even E-Bay is in on the back-to-school sales complete with fall leaves for decoration.

Another sign that Autumn is near, Beer. By mid-August the Autumn brews and Pumpkin Ales (making all Harry Potter fans smile) and Apple Ciders  line the aisles, but for those die hard Autumn fans, "it is with great pleasure" to announce that cases of Sam Adams Oktoberfest have been spotted in store now! For anyone planning a Harvest or Oktoberfest Party, go ahead and start stocking up now, just remember, it's for the party.

Of course, one of the biggest signs of Fall is, back-to-school time, and sales at Old Navy, Target, and many other stores has begun. Shopping for those class lists in advance is a plus in three ways:
  1. All the items looked for will be available due to the fact the shopping is done early
  2. No crazy back-to-school crowds to deal with
  3. Less last minute stress
All the main stores, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, and so on, have the school sections up and ready to go.

No matter what anyone may say, embrace the fact that Autumn is near, that soon there will be a chill in the air, drinking hot coffee in the mornings will be made better because of it, and in no time Pumpkin Spice Lattés will pop up. Enjoy pre-fall shopping. Go ahead and get the decorations and clothes so that when the season is here, all you will have to do is sit back and enjoy it. Happy Fall!!!
